"This too shall pass: Lesson from Chandragrahan"

Just like the moon shines bright and sometimes hides in shadows during Chandragrahan, our life too has its phases of light and darkness.

Chandragrahan happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon. The sunlight that usually makes the moon shine gets blocked, and the moon looks dark for some time.

But here’s the beauty—

• The moon itself doesn’t disappear, it’s still there.

• The shadow is temporary, and once the Earth moves out of the way, the moon shines bright again.

Today, while driving back from my parents’ home at 4:30 a.m., I felt as though the Moon was smiling at me. He had just emerged from the grahan (eclipse), and in that moment, I was reminded of my own life phases — those times when I was surrounded by darkness and convinced I would never come out of it.

I instantly decided that I must write a blog about it today. I even thought of pulling moon photos from the internet or asking ChatGPT for help. But to my surprise, the universe had its own plan — my brother shared a stunning photo he clicked from Dubai, and other groups also posted beautiful captures of the same Moon.

Sometimes, when your heart aligns with your intention, the universe gently shows you that it is working in your favour. 🌙✨

A few years ago, I lived in an environment filled with negativity. It felt endless. But just like the Moon after an eclipse, I too found my light again. Unless you are happy from Inside, you cannot spread happiness.

Now, when I hear people speak about being stuck in their struggles for years and labeling themselves as “depressed,” I deeply empathize — because I’ve been there. But I also know this truth: life is a balance of joy and sorrow.

Reflective lessons:

• Impermanence: Nothing is permanent. Darkness is temporary; light always returns.

• Patience: We cannot rush the eclipse; likewise, we must allow life’s phases to pass naturally.

• Faith: Even if unseen, the moon is still there—just like our inner strength during tough times.

• Balance: Both light and dark make life meaningful.

Our journey is about consciously exploring happiness, understanding what truly lights us up, and choosing to engage more with the things that make us feel alive. At the same time, it’s about gently setting aside what drags us down.

And while we seek self-happiness and self-love, let’s remember this: our growth should never come at the cost of hurting another. True happiness is expansive — it uplifts us and radiates to those around us.

Practical Tips:

On Bad days:

• Journal your feelings instead of suppressing them.

. Write down the things that make you sad

• Take a walk under the sky (remind yourself of the vastness).

• Practice meditation or deep breathing.

• Repeat affirmations like “I trust that brighter days are coming.

On good days:

• Express gratitude. Journal your thoughts.

. Journal the things that make you happy

• Spread positivity.

• Anchor good memories for the future.

Going back to our moon- “The moon never loses its beauty, even when it’s hidden in shadows. Likewise, our worth remains, no matter the day we’re going through.”

“Like the moon, keep shining—you are whole even in the shadows.”
